“You’ve got to think about big things while you’re doing small things, so that all the small things go in the right direction. - Alvin Toffler”
I offer a visioning process for individuals that find themselves in transition - between jobs, at the end of their educational path, during retirement. This process is good for anyone who is in need to draw a new map and design a new adventure for themselves, to find again excitement and purpose in life, or simply to understand where they are going.
Are you that person?
“It´s nice sometimes to walk around in circles - like Alice - but many of us need and want direction and purpose, especially in determined moments of our life.
To do so, we have to create time and space for deep reflection and listening. No judgement, no fear.
Where is that I really want to go?”
I am no Cheshire Cat, and my mission is to help you find direction and purpose in your life, and to help you draw a roadmap on how to reach your goals.
What method do I use?
The method I use is simple and it is based on the concept of backcasting. If you are not familiar with this term, please read here below:
Backcasting is a planning method that starts with defining a desirable future and then works backwards to identify actions, policies and programs that will connect that specified future to the present. The fundamentals of the method were outlined by John B. Robinson from the University of Waterloo in 1990. The fundamental question of backcasting asks: "if we want to attain a certain goal, what actions must be taken to get there?”. On the other hand, forecasting is the process of predicting the future based on current trend analysis. Backcasting approaches the challenge of discussing the future from the opposite direction. I heard of backcasting for the first time 8 years ago in Sweden, while studying my Master´s in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability. This Master was co-initiated by the funder of The Natural Step, an environmental NGO that put backcasting at the center of strategic sustainable development.
Steps of the process:
1 Visualize it in your head. In order to make a roadmap towards your successful future, you have to first dream of it, and I will help you do it. We can focus on one area of your life, or all together during the same session: relationships, carrier and money, health and fitness, personal development... I will help you reflect and try to get to the roots...what is that your heart really, really wants? And why?
2 See it with your eyes. After the high dream - we don´t want to stay small here - has emerged, I will help you synthesize the main concepts and we will visualize it to make it more real and achievable.
3. Set your strategic goals. This step is about setting ambitious goals for yourself, in every area of your life.
4. Plan it. A step-by-step time-bound approach to achieve your goals. Take your agenda and let´s go for it. I will help you, I promise.
So, it looks very easy on paper, but it takes some planning on my side and a lot of trust on your side. I only want to help you, and you will see the result of our work during the year, little by little, as you see life unfold.
How long and how much?
The process is supposed to be quite fast. If we collaborate well, it should take between 3 and 5 hours, plus some homeworks for you.
I have thought about a very low cost (ask me please) for this process, considering the amount of time I will be putting into it before, during and after the actual workshop. However, I know the many people that find themselves in transition will not be able to pay immediately, and I will be very happy to discuss all possibilities, as long as there is the intention to reward my work.
Please, if you are a bit lost right now and you need a little push,
